Happy Independence Day!

On July 4, 1776 our forefathers signed the declaration of independence declaring their independence from the Tyranny of British King, George III... this document is among the most precious documents to the American heart, in this beloved document these words are found:  


 "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..." 

Self-evident- obvious, it does not need proof.

Endowed by their Creator- we are given by our Creator, not the Big Bang or some great, great, great, great, Uncle Chimp who happened to change by chance... but a loving Creator who formed each of us and has given us these rights. 

Unalienable- "cannot be taken away or denied"

Life- "the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death." (Therefore abortion defies the unalienable right to life because an abortion is denying life to a precious child.)

Liberty- "The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views."
 I (as we all do)  have a right to speak what I believe.
We are all given (by God) the right to make our own decisions. 
When the right to speak what we believe is taken away, guess what?
so is our unalienable right of LIBERTY!!! 

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

John 8:32"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Galatians 5:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.



Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.


On this 4th of July 2014, may we: " Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God."(1 Peter 2:16)
