Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” (Luke 2:13-14)

I love you all! Have a wonderful day remembering our Savior's birth and hanging out with family!

Funny Story from LAST DAY OF DRIVERS ED

Ok... I think it's funny... maybe it won't be to anyone else but here it goes!

I got to class early and this girl (Makayla) and her boyfriend came in... i was sitting (sitting mind you) at my desk studying and minding my own business and the guy looked at me and said "I like your jean skirt." (I have never had anyone say that to me and it was humorously specific... I decided I would think that he was being serious and not sarcastic and said "thank you."
he responded with, "you're welcome" then he and Makayla left the room and I returned to studying.
Shortly thereafter they returned whispering... Makayla kept saying to him, "you ask" after much debate he said             "Susannah..." I looked up surprised that he knew my name.. I guess Makayla told him.., we've never spoken so I didn't know for sure that she knew my name.

"do you know how many questions are on the test."
"75" I responded
(kinda weird that they wanted to know because Mr Cooper TOLD us yesterday how many questions would be on the test.)
then he asked "are you good at tests." I shrugged awkwardly and said something about as intelligent as  "I don't know" and turned back to my book.
"I suck at tests." he continued. I smiled,
When he asked, "isn't she stupid?" gesturing to Makayla. She giggled.
"No!" I responded.
'Well isn't she not very smart."
I shook my head-[I just realized that sounded really bad- I shook my head in a way that meant I don't agree and I don't know what to say!] Makayla laughed and randomly commented that he was her brother...
I laughed "Like I believe that!" (they had just had a discussion with Mr Cooper in front of my that involved pretending that her boy friend was her brother...)
she went on "yeah, I hate him. We share a room." he laughed and said "she always steals my socks." she giggled and said "and he steals my bed." I kind of smiled awkwardly at the odd/awkward style of joking that they had, then the bell rang...
Something funny and awkward HAD to happen to me before I finished Drivers Ed.

LOL... Anyway. My BTW teacher had told me that last Thursday was the last day of drivers ed... so I was all ready and excited... then Mr Cooper (my classroom teacher) said that the last day was Tuesday. On Tuesday I found out that finals were on Wednesday and THAT was the last day...
So on my third last day of drivers ed I got a waiver and passed the class!
:)
Thus ends my first semester in public school...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I had a REALLY long post that I had been working on for an hour... With each thing/person that I was grateful for and why... It just got completely lost. I feel like crying! I was almost done!!! So now it's just short and to the point. *sigh*

Happy Thanksgiving!

And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.

Anthony is learning to play piano!

He has proudly mastered "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
Now he is eagerly flipping through my piano books asking me if I will teach him 'this one, or that one'
to each I respond... "lets find an easier one."

I may not be a great pianist but I KNOW you can't play that yet! :-)
I am thrilled that he is learning!

Psalm 95:1
Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Ephesians 5:19
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,

And one more post...

Lol I guess I am having a blogging spurt. ;)
We put up our Christmas tree tonight!!

In this last photo I found Anthony sitting in the dark sunroom all by himself, playing gently with a Christmas ornament and singing quietly. I got the picture without being noticed.

That's all! (For today... We'll see what tomorrow brings.) ;)

Love and in Christ,

Friends and Snowball Fights

The Larsons and Rosenquists came over yesterday; I did not get any pictures but we had a blast!
Hanging out, (everyone.) snowball fights, (boys against girls...)
ga-ga ball,(most of us :-) ) boggle, (Liz, Emily, Myself, Mrs. Larson and Mom; then Mom traded with Rob and Mrs Larson traded with Caleb.)
dutch blitz, (the younger girls) walks in the woods, (Liz and I)  food (everyone)...
and our thermostat got fixed today!

This is what I woke up to...

I woke up this morning
and tried to remember what was happening today.
"Friends are coming over" I heard myself say.

Finally I got up, I made my way
through the cold house,
Quiet as a mouse.
I entered the sunroom and what should I see?

This!

now Im alone on a chair, considering words that can tell a story and rhyme
I'm not doing very well I'm a afraid, but at least you can tell what I'm wanting to say.
It's hard to find words to rhyme at the right time!
 ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

Yeah, no one else is awake, I might consider going back to bed after bible time if: I wasn't already dressed, I have school to do, the house needs to be clean, a fire started because the thermostat is still broken, a piano to be played and a mystical, snowy day to be photographed.
(Oh, and all of this by 10 o'clock.)

(If I was positive that anyone reading this  has seen the Princess Bride I would say this:
"I have my country's five hundredth anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder and Gilda to frame for it. I'm swamped!"

So now I said it and you'll have to watch the movie. :D

Thermostats and Winter Hats

Ok, so it's freezing outside right?
(No I'm not complaining yet... I'll wait till January to complain about the weather.)
I'm just stating the fact :)
People are all bundled up, wool coats, hats, mittens, scarves, etc.
our thermostat was set to kick in at a certain temperature  (I think it was 60-65)
Someone must have messed with it because it got turned up to 74! A little while later the air conditioner started... Um, excuse me? That's not okay! It's cold out Mr. AC alias Mr. Heater!
My mom has now shut done the entire system.
Pioneer days here we come!
( we stoked the fire and stacked the wood high.) 😃

Ok textbook. I know.
                 I'm procrastinating.
Back to school.

😄 (I had to go to school this morning and have behind the wheel after class so I'm a little behind.
I'm almost done with my last assignment for the day.)

Wise Words from my Mom

I was stressing that I would have as much trouble/dislike with/for geometry as I do with Algebra 2, my wise mother promptly responded,

"don't worry about geometry, algebra has enough worries of it's own." Sayings of a Mother 634 (BLB - Book of Lisa Baffa)

"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." Matthew 6:34 (NLT- the only reason I used this version of the verse is because it matches my mom's words better :D )

Happy Birthday!

                  Happy 8th Birthday Levi!

You are growing up so fast!
 I love you!

may you;

Photo Shoot in the Woods with the Hernandez's

After church we went to a nature park with the Hernandez's. (some new friends of ours from church)
Emily was the first one to get her picture taken... I didn't even have to tell her to smile at the camera! (the only thing I had to keep telling her was; "stop posing!"

 Maybe my favorite of Emily

Fine! if the girl wants to pose, let her pose!

 "Don't take so many [pictures]!"

(as we are walking down the path after a torturous session of trying to get this child to smile normally he calls to me; "Susannah, take a picture of this..." and he poses as shown. *sigh*
My favorite of him!

That's better (another more "natural" shot (after our slightly less torturous but just as frustrating(for both of us) photo shoot.

I like this one of Elizabeth (the next picture of her is my favorite of her "bubbly, silly side" and this is her "calm, shy side"

about the third time that she asked me to take another picture of herself after her session.
I know I said the other one might be my favorite... that was because I can't decide whether I like this one better or the other one. :-)

 "Take a picture of this!"

Emily, "Elizabeth! each of us should stand on a stump and hold hands and Susannah can take a picture of our hands."
Well, I took a picture of their faces too. oh well. :)

Mr Hernandez took our family photo

I believe that Elijah was the hardest to photograph! (he wanted to go hang out with Julian... thankfully Julian got him to smile. lol)

 My favorite of Elijah

Anthony was willing to pose but only for periods of 5-10 seconds... here is what I got...

bad lighting but I love his smile in this one.

Then Mr and Mrs Hernandez took pictures of me... which was fun and  a little awkward....I haven't had someone other than my siblings or mom take a picture of just me since I was summer 2012)

I think this is my favorite of... um... me. :-)

And of course when you go somewhere with another family the mothers want a group photo of all the kids....
Front row left to right: Anthony, Ellie, Gabby, Elizabeth, Levi, Emily
Back row left to right: me, Julian, Elijah

We had a great time!
